The best thing to do is to observe them and see a vet if the situation is recurrent. Also known as cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CDS). And by the age of 15, almost 70% show at least one sign of mental decline. And because large and giant breed dogs age more rapidly than smaller breeds, dogs as young as six years old can begin to experience mental decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signs of canine dementia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Yes, dementia is not just for humans. It affects animals and here I bring you the most common signs that are indicators of the onset of cognitive impairment or dementia in dogs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">1)  Aumento de la cantidad total de <strong>sleep<\/strong> over a 24-hour period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">2) Mostrar <strong>disinterest and apathy<\/strong>. Cada vez m\u00e1s investigaciones avalan la estrecha relaci\u00f3n existente entre el intestino y el cerebro.\u2063 <br>&#8211; Alimentarse de grasas saludables, \u00e1cidos grasos omega-3, como el aceite de krill y otras grasas no refinadas. \u2063<br>&#8211; Evitar subproductos t\u00f3xicos del proceso de fabricaci\u00f3n de piensos.
