"My name is Verónica Vicent, and in this section I am going to try to summarise a little about how and why I got here. Since I was a child my great passion has been veterinary medicine, I love animals and I love taking care of them. A few years ago, while working in a veterinary clinic, I received many talks about feed brands, but I never felt satisfied with what they told me, my common sense told me that something that doesn't look like real food can't be as wonderful as they said, so I started to investigate on my own more natural and healthy alternatives. I studied a lot thanks to Dr. Dolores Sánchez Peñalver, because 7 years ago there was not as much information about natural food as there is now, I only had a forum of people with their own experiences, directed by her, and a lot of information in other languages from pioneers like Ian Billinghurst, Tom Lonsdale or Dr. Richard Pitcairn, because in Spain we have always been a little slower on this subject, but every day we are getting better! Thanks to my studies in Dietetics and Nutrition in people and to what I have been learning about natural food for animals, I have been able to have extensive knowledge about this type of food and its variants, all adapted to dogs, cats, ferrets and now African hedgehogs. I have given talks to different groups of people: individuals, dog schools, animal shelters. Together with other wonderful administrators, I run a Facebook group with almost 14,000 users. I have also been asked for advice on food by many people, pet shops, vets and even for a while I was a nutritional advisor for a brand of ready-made and frozen natural food. So I hope to continue to help as much as possible to open eyes to better nutrition for our furry friends. All my furry friends, dogs, cats, ferrets and even a hedgehog that I currently have, enjoy a feed-free diet, adapted to their nature, and all of them are healthy and enjoy eating.
